Inviting viewers to your stream
The most important part! Getting viewers to join your live stream. Shosho has two ways to help:
1. Followers are notified automatically
When you go live, Shosho sends a push notification to your followers who use the Shosho app. They’ll see a notification on their phone with your title and a press-to-open into your stream.
Push notifications go out:
- To Shosho app users — they can press the notification and link directly to your live stream.
- Once per stream — followers won’t be re-notified if your connection drops and reconnects.
- Based on follow status — only your followers are notified.
If a follower says they aren’t getting notifications, ask them to check the app’s notification permissions in their phone settings (iOS Settings → Shosho → Notifications, or Android Settings → Apps → Shosho → Notifications).
2. Share your stream link to other socials
Your stream has a public URL on shosho.live that anyone can open in a browser. There is no login or account required. Share that URL anywhere:
You can share a link to your profile screen, which will show “Live Now” or you can share a link to your specific live show. To share from inside the app look for the share icon.
Ideas for sharing:
- X / Twitter, Bluesky, Mastodon — paste the link to your live stream as a post
- WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage — drop the link into group chats
- Instagram, TikTok — paste a link to your Shosho profile in your bio or stories
Tips that actually move the needle
- Schedule before you go live — set your Show’s Title and Image before hitting Go Live so the notification and the shared link both look good.
- Tease ahead of time — post on socials saying “going live in 30 mins” with the link to your profile so that people can look forward to your live and remember it is coming up.
- Repeat the link — share the same link several times across the day if you stream regularly. Every social platform has a small audience window per post.
