Going live from OBS or another encoder
If you stream from a computer, OBS, or any other RTMP-compatible encoder, you can broadcast to Shosho the same way you’d broadcast to YouTube or Twitch — point your encoder at Shosho’s RTMP ingest URL and Shosho handles publishing the live event to Nostr for you.
Create a Live Show
On the Shosho.live website, create a Live Show with your preferred streaming server.
Get your connection details
On the Show press ”…” to open the menu, then press on the Connect item. Make a note of the RTMP ingest URL and the Stream key.
Configure your encoder
In OBS (or your encoder of choice), open Settings → Stream and choose Custom. Paste the RTMP ingest URL into Server, and the Stream key into Stream Key.
Start streaming
Press Start Streaming in your encoder.
Your encoder sends video to the Shosho streaming server, and the server publishes the live event to Shosho and everywhere Nostr live streams are shown.
Monitoring chat
You can keep the Shosho website or app open on a different device to monitor and reply to chat while you stream from OBS.
Already streaming somewhere else?
If you’re already broadcasting to a server you control and just want Shosho to publish the live event to Nostr, use Show Chat instead.
